Dear Mr. President

Dear President Erickson,

Let me say first that we appreciate the fact that in the midst of a tragedy at Penn State we are all thankful that you took a chance and stepped us to lead us in a better direction. But with everything going on, I am concerned this is more about pleasing the masses rather then the family of Penn State. The students, alumni, fans, and professors have been taking the administrations beatings. We are the ones standing up to the outside world when they are hounding at us wanting answers. We have to deal with the judgments of others and keep our heads high when we are told we protected a pedophile, support a villain, or two days ago I was told I was living proof I was part of a "rhi-tarded cult member".

Students, alumni and fans have banned together to try to support each other. Whether it's statuses on Facebook or tweets. Or videos and blogs that I think you should take some time to look at:
These are the students showing the world that we still are Penn State (no matter what Sports Illustrated says). We're showing everyone that even though WE are the ones taking the penalties for the administrations mistakes, we will keep our heads high.

Where are your videos and statements to those who hate us? Why aren't you helping us show others how amazing of a school we are? Why aren't you sharing the statistics of our education we receive including the student athletes who have done wonderful, but just took someone else's punishment? We are all fighting your battles while everyone sits back and watches and I am emotionally exhausted.

Maybe you need to hire someone who gets on Facebook and Twitter so you can see exactly how the students and alumni are feeling before you hurt us anymore. But this is your chance to stand up and fight with us.

We still are and you're welcome,

Lauren Bubb

One last thing, Thank you.

Before I came to Penn State, I would have never guessed my life would be how it is today. I have the best friends, Boyfriend, and education I could have ever asked for, and a huge part of that is thanks to Joe Paterno.

Instead of writing about my experience as a Penn State student, I'm going to reflect through my pictures that make me Penn State proud. Thank you Joe Pa for changing my life and giving me pride in the amazing university I know and love today. WE ARE PENN STATE. You will live forever in our hearts.
